The Varsity Team Defeats #2 Chaparral!

April 19, 2014

Yesterday, the Mountain Ridge varsity team won a hard-fought battle against Chaparral. Currently, they are the number 2 team in the state and number 9 team in the nation. Our boys played so hard and fought through to win 5-3 in ten innings. A big tip of the hat to our two sophomore pitchers on the day. Chase Sandman and Josh Sieglitz were fantastic and held the Firebirds to ONE earned run. Our offense started to click as well. We had big hits from Sawyer Treese, Nate Calles, Michael Dyer and many others. Cameron Cannon also went 4-4 on the day.

The bus ride home was one for the ages. If you were on that bus, you never forget the fun the boys had. This group is a FAMILY of young men who have fought all season. Let’s hope this gets us really going! Parents, this is why these boys do what they do every day at practice. This entire program works SO HARD and we hope you are seeing that on the field.
