Varsity Baseball Wins National Classic
The Mountain Ridge varsity baseball team traveled to Southern California this week to compete in the 27th annual National Classic baseball tournament. Mountain Ridge is the only undefeated team in the tournament. They went 4-0 and defeated La Jolla Country Day 2-0, Servite 10-9, De La Salle 2-1 and El Toro 7-1 to become the first Arizona team to win this nationally recognized tournament. Along with winning the tournament, these players won individual tournament honors: Tommy Lowe for Most Outstanding Pitcher, Trent Turner was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player, Cameron Cannon was named to the All Tournament Team.
